Chimp What?

:: Energy Storage

The Infinite Monkey Lab is a developer and provider of battery interfaces, equipment and services enabling optimal reuse of ex EV batteries as grid batteries (or ESS if you prefer).

By reusing batteries we reduce the amount of materials required to meet humanity’s demand for energy storage. Reusing batteries as part of the energy grid maximises their effectiveness enabling the fastest path to maximum renewable energy reliance, energy resilience and minimising the effects of climate change.

:: We Are

Founded by Professional Mechanical Engineer Niall Darwin, MENG, ACGI, to leverage existing batteries for maximum impact in the fight against climate change, the skilled collaborators at The Infinite Monkey Lab are developing solutions to meet this goal. The lab is based in Raglan on the West Coast of New Zealand.

:: Our Customers

Based in New Zealand our target customers are New Zealand’s lines companies & councils. We’re not Nationalistic & have already sold early prototypes to Southern Research in the USA.

:: A Revolution

We are passionate about the urgent need for the transition to a sustainable lifestyle for all on this planet. The opportunity to develop tools to create reliable, zero emissions power grids while making best use of existing materials & components presented itself and was too good to ignore. We are proud & excited to be able to be a part of the revolution.

:: Timeline

We have a working prototype which we are able to demonstrate to interested parties. We are working towards having our batteries installed around New Zealand before the end of 2023.
